    Global Diabetes Survey

Adequate quality of diabetes care and the best concept for the implementation of national diabetes plans remain controversial. In 2011 the United Nations High Level Meeting on Non Communicable Diseases agreed on a consensus that national plans for the prevention and control of diabetes should be developed, implemented and monitored. The Global Diabetes Survey (GDS) is a standardised, annual, global questionnaire that will be used to assess responses of representatives from 19 diabetes-related stakeholder groups.

    DSME Logic Model

This paper documents the  development of an outcome framework for the Diabetes Literacy project. After an initial systematic metaliterature search, it was concluded that existing studies could not provide the necessary information to consistently answer the question if some interventions are more effective than others. Studies use a plethora of psychological-, social-, behavioral-, clinical- and wellbeing-outcomes.

    Physical Exercise Core Therapy?

Science has demonstrated that exercise is an effective therapeutic strategy for type 2 diabetes. This review discusses the correct approach to exercise therapy and underlines the effects and limitations. Also the applicability of it in management of type 2 diabetes is another crucial point. Authors of the review are Pierpaolo De Feo from the University of Perugia and Peter Schwarz from the University of Dresden. Peter Schwarz is one of the Principal Investigators of the FP7 Diabetes Literacy project.
