    The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Health Promotion Research (LBGHPR) is an institute of the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft (LBG) (eng. Ludwig Boltzmann Society), which was founded in 1960. The LBG is a private sponsor of research establishments in Austria. Its Institutes deal with questions relating to medicine, humanities, social sciences and cultural sciences. The LBG, which is financed from public and private resources, is divided into Institutes and Clusters and currently employs more than 250 people. Ludwig Boltzmann Institutes are characterized in particular by their cooperation with institutional partner organizations.

    Health Promotion Research

    The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Health Promotion Research (LBGHPR) analyses the production or reduction of health and disease in organizations. The research program is based on social theories of health and organizations and focuses specifically on the conditions and possibilities for health promotion in expert organizations. The LBGHPR which is set for seven years cooperates with the Universities of Vienna, Bielefeld and Edinburgh as well as with the Austrian Federal Ministries for Health and Education, the Association of Social Insurance Carriers, the Gesundheit Österreich GmbH via the Fonds Gesundes Österreich, the City of Vienna, Geschäftsgruppe Gesundheit und Soziales, and combines innovative applied science with basic research
